Michele Fiorini

Michele Fiorini, educated at Ancona (Italy), Bath (United Kingdom) and Gdańsk (Poland) Universities, Michele Fiorini (SM IEEE) holds a Ph.D. in electronic and telecommunications engineering in Italy and an M.B.A. in strategy, programme and project management in Poland. He is an engineering manager at Leonardo s.p.a. in Rome (Italy) where he is providing technical and management leadership on maritime transport and border control systems. He is also an industrial member at the IALA* in Paris (France) and member of the MBA advisory board at the Gdańsk University of Technology in Poland. Michele has been Chair of the Council at the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) in London, UK, 2017-2018, and a session chair at the Euro-Asia Economic Forum (Xi'an, China, 2013). In June 2018 he has been invited to provide a special lecture and advices at Mokpo National Maritime University (MMU), Republic of Korea on how to solve navigational risk based on vulnerability of maritime accidents for e-Navigation. He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) registered to the Engineering Council in the UK and co-editor of two IET Transportation Series books: “Clean Mobility and Intelligent Transport Systems” (2015) and “ICT Solutions and Digitalisation in Ports and Shipping” (2021).
